Starting the Non-Fiction Side of Writing Fiction, Again

Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve written content about writing fiction. I pretty much shut down all my websites, except for my author site, and focused strictly on my own writing. I was home alone all day and it was much easier to just write fiction. Things have changed over the past year and I’ve been wondering what I can do to keep myself busy during those times I don’t get to work on fiction.

Backstory: My husband hasn’t been able to work for the past year, hip problems, hip surgery and now general all-over joint pain and issues. I don’t have an office or writer’s cave right now so it makes writing fiction at a good pace a little bit difficult. I work on it when I can, but that leaves a lot of hours in the day that I’m not working on fiction. I’m one of those people who need several hours completely alone to make any progress in my stories.

However, I’ve done enough freelance and website work in my time that it’s something I can work on without alone time. Plus, people have told me I should do something with the character sheets and the story brainstorming sheets I’ve created for my personal use.

Here we go. This is my attempt to:

  • Share those sheets and hopefully help others.
  • Supplement my fiction writing income. (It needs it, but that’s a whole other post.)
  • Get back into the blogging world and possibly do some affiliate marketing. (I used to be in IM niches.)

I don’t know how fast all of this will go, but sometimes we need ‘busy work’. If it helps other writers and turns into a whole other career, all the better.

With all that said, I’m turning my personal character worksheets into a real workshop and my story brainstorming sheets into a brainstorming kit. Join my mailing list (and get some cool samples and other printables) and you’ll be notified when these products/services are available.

Happy Writing!

Have you grabbed the sample brainstorming kit yet?
